Q: When and how do I pay the fee for the class?
A: The course fee should be paid AFTER you receive confirmation that you are enrolled in a class. This fee should be paid directly to the high school principal's office. Checks should be made out to Clio Area Schools, and are not accepted after the 1st week of the class. If you do not pay for the course, you will not get a certificate of completion until the fee is paid. You will get a receipt when you pay.
Q: When are classes offered?
A: We usually offer Segment 1 three times during the year: Fall (starting right after Homecoming), Spring (starting right before Spring Break), and Summer (after Memorial Day). Segment 1 usually lasts 4-6 weeks to complete. Segment 2 classes lasts for 3 days. Students can always ask Mrs. Fitch or Mr. Korb at the high school for details.
Q: I've heard of people not being accepted into the class, how does that process work?
A: Unfortunately we are not always able to take every students who signs up for driver's educations for various reasons (lack of instructor availability, State class size guidelines, vehicle limitations). For Segment 1 if we have more students sign up for a session than we are able to accept, we will take the oldest eligible Clio students first. For Segment 2 classes, we run those on a 1st come, 1st served basis.
Q: Can I get a refund if I decide to take the class later, or with another provider, or if I fail?
A: No. The course fee is non-refundable. Your course fee can be applied to another session date, though. But as long as the district is able to offer driver's education classes, the fee is non-refundable. If you fail the course, you can re-enroll in a later session at no additional charge. Please do NOT pay the course fee until you have received confirmation that you have been accepted into the class.
Q: How do I sign-up?
A: For Segment 1 classes there is an informational letter posted on this website and a Google Form for students to fill out to sign up.
